Athletes from around the world convened in Orlando, Florida, to compete in the Invictus Games May 8 to May 12, 2016.

Here are some key facts and figures about the games:

  • Founded by Prince Harry of Wales, the international games are for wounded or ill service members, both active duty and veteran.
  • 10 sports including archery, wheelchair basketball, powerlifting, and swimming
  • 14 nations were represented, including the United States, Great Britain, Canada and Germany
  • 485 athletes competed
  • Nearly 56,000 spectators attended
  • The 2017 games will take place in Toronto
