Zion Williamson: Powering Forward From the Time He Was a Boy

Zion Williamson is one of the most impressive young athletes of our time.

Following a dominant freshman-year stint with the Duke Blue Devils, he was selected by the New Orleans Pelicans first overall in the 2019 NBA draft. Zion is best known for his speed and jumping ability, prompting NBA player Kevin Durant to describe him as a "once-in-a-generation type athlete."

Basketball aside, he's even more impressive as a human being. Despite the accolades and notoriety Zion has earned, he’s determined to stay grounded. He never forgets who he is and the community that supported him. When he’s not on the court, Zion is likely spending time with his little brother Noah or making a surprise visit to the youngster’s classroom. As he insists, “I’m just trying to be the best Zion I can be.”

This mini documentary from filmmaker Lukas Korver helps viewers understand just how hard Zion and his family worked to get to this point—and why his stepfather firmly believes that, for Zion, “The best is yet to come.”
